In our current life scene, almost everywhere is inseparable from “account passwords“. Account passwords are like keys in our lives. Opening every lock requires a key, which is a headache for most people who choose to turn their password into a “master key“. But this is not a good habit, it may bring huge hidden dangers.
There was a massive data breach on the Facebook platform. Hackers have stolen the personal information of hundreds of millions of users, including usernames and passwords. If these users use the same password, their digital assets and privacy will face serious risks.
Assuming a scenario where you use the same password on multiple websites or applications, and one of the websites is hacked, the hacker can use your username and password to log in to other websites or applications, and of course, attempt to attack your company. This is an important entry point for blackmail ransomware attacks on businesses. Even if the internal security measures of the enterprise operate normally, it will still be attacked due to this reason.
To protect the security of your account information, it is recommended to separate the password of your account from that of your company. In addition, for enterprises, strict password policies should be established, requiring regular password changes and enabling multiple-factor authentication (MFA), which can avoid the risks of password reuse.
Remember, passwords are the first line of defense to protect information security, do not let them become the entry point for hacker attacks!
